You're In For A Scare

Now, who doesn't love a good romp through a theme park? This time of year, visitors expect more from these attractions that the typical roller coaster chills or fried food thrills. They yearn for a truly immersive, and spine tingling experience, of course! Therefore,  I have rounded up these top three picks to get the heart pumping.

Knott's Scary Farm
Knott's Scary Farm is Southern California's seasonal gem. It boasts "160 acres of horror"-- and with 10 mazes, scare zones, and wondering monsters of all kinds-- it is no wonder that they are considered one of the biggest, haunted theme park attractions in the United States. And now, with Elvira herself making a nightly appearance, it is sure to elevate this theme park to whole new heights of macabre sophistication.

This seasonal favorite was created in Tampa, Florida to compete with another,  Halloween favorite. However, Bush Garden's rendition-- with it's heavily-themed "haunted houses", with decor and monsters to match-- has earned this ghastly theme park a devoted following. With a new attraction added just in time for the 2015 season, and produced from the creator of The Blair Witch Project, it is sure to chill the blood of even the bravest of souls.

Six Flags Fright Fest
Considered one of the New England's biggest haunted theme park attractions, it features some of the most diverse horror-themed chills out of the bunch. With more family-friendly "thrills by day" that may be more inviting to children and faint-of-heart alike. However, once six o'clock rolls around, the terror factor is off the charts! Run for your lives as zombies roam the midways, threatening any guest who considers themselves brave enough to stick around after dark.
